Decision Time; The Lord or the World

Once again Israel is under attack, this Sunday the countries of the world will gather to again stand against God and His Word, yes against God Himself. Is this the place He will bring them into a judgment as spoken of in Joel 3:1-2? Well may be not but surely it must be leading to the final path towards the Valley of Jehoshaphat. It has been a very long journey for mankind to get to this point in time but sooner or later it was going to happen. If and I say if, this is the beginning of the end then we need to re-evaluate our position with the Lord who is going to bring that judgment upon the earth for our disobedience towards the Jewish people. In all things we are told to seek first the kingdom of God, first and foremost. [Matthew 6:32-33] So as the world seems to be falling apart we need to really focus on the Lord. Balaam was asked to curse the people of Israel and his answer was, “I can only say what the Lord tells me to say”. We are told if we curse Israel that curse will backfire. This has been true throughout history and it is true today.

God is directing in all things. I was reading in Genesis 24 this morning about the servant who was sent by Abraham to get a wife for Isaac. The servant met Rebecca at the well and two things came to me. The first was Rebecca was someone who went the extra mile, she did more than what was required of her and she was rewarded for her efforts, she became part of the genealogy of the Messiah. She was also obedient to the Lord’s call, she did not have to go with the servant she could have stayed within the safety of her own home. But she chose to obey the call of the Lord on her life and go into the unknown. [Genesis 24]

Today we have a situation that has been going on for over a hundred years. The Jewish people have been leaving their lives behind and heading back to their homeland. A land raked with hardship, war and sometimes death, but still they go with the call of God on their hearts. They do not know what lies ahead for them or their children but still they go, they are obedient to the call. ‘I will bring them back into the Land and I will put a new heart in them and I will be their God’. [Ezekiel 36:26-28] How many of us would be willing to give up everything and have to start again in such a hostile environment?

But this is what I believe the Lord is requiring of us this day, let go and let God. We did, and we will never regret it. We do not own a house and probably never will again; we have furniture and some money in the bank and a fifteen-year-old car. But these are only things, things that will one day be placed in the second hand shop or worse. They are things we as people run after all our lives but in the end they go to someone else. [Ecclesiastes 2:10-11]

As Israel comes further and further under attack we can be assured the end is getting closer. OK that may be years away but the things that are happening are a clear warning to all to once more return to the Words of the Messiah, “Seek you first the Kingdom of God” and do not store up things that will fade away but seek the Lord. [Luke 12:33] He is the only Rock that is a sound foundation and the one we are to build our lives upon. [Psalm 95:1] It is not difficult to surrender to Yeshua as He has been calling people to do it since He walked the earth and even before. [Genesis 12:1] The Word clearly says, “Take up your cross and follow me”, [Matthew 16:24] Peter and all the Disciples followed when called and when they saw the risen Lord they gave all to get the message out to the people. [Acts 5:29]

The world is closing in, they know where you are every moment of the day through your smart phone. We need to have the mind of Messiah and follow His call more than ever. When the Lord called me to speak out against the new age teachings coming into the church I suffered, ostracised at meetings and rejected by the Leaders. But this was nothing compared to what some are suffering to proclaim the Gospel. Of course there is a price to pay if we reject the world [Matthew 24:9] and it is worth it for the reward at the end of the day. [1 Corinthians 9:24]

Where would the world be today if our Lord and Saviour had given in to the call to bow down and worship the devil? [Luke 4:5-8] Where would we be today if Yeshua had given in to the leaders of the day and stopped teaching the people what the scriptures really said? [Luke 13:14] Where would we be today if Yeshua had not bowed to the Father’s will? [Matthew 26:42] Where would we be today if the Disciples had not been obedient to wait in Jerusalem for the Power to come from on High? [Luke 24:49]

It is 2017; fifty years since the full return of Israel to God’s people in 1967 and the attacks on Israel are coming thick and fast. The world is standing with the enemies of God against Israel. [Zechariah 12:3] The Jewish people are being attacked in many nations, in the universities, schools, and shops and in the street. The Jewish people are being vilified and blamed for every ill on the planet. Thousands of Christians are dying because of their faith in Yeshua and now the UN has said it is a crime to take your children to Church.

What is going to happen in 2017? I don’t know but what I do believe, by the end of this year the world will have changed. How? Again I don’t know, but what I do know is we have to be ready and surrendered to the Lord in every way and be alert for what may happen. [Matthew 25:13] The Lord is there, to come every day of the week not just on one. He is there for us to kneel before seven days a week. The Lord said “I know your deeds some of you are cold and others are sinning so repent. Others have lost their first love and some tolerate sexual sin and are being led away by false teachings”. [Revelation 2 and 3]

I saw a friend who is very sick the other day and told him he should be thinking about Yeshua, but he turned away. If we tell then we are free, if they do not listen we are still free of what lies in the future. [Ezekiel 33] This is no time to turn our backs on the only One who can save us from ourselves and He can only do this by us surrendering our lives over to Him in every way. Home, familys, work and finances, they are all His and we have been blessed for a time but they are His to give and His to take away. [Job 1:21] In these times we need to stand firmly on the Word, the Rock of Ages, [Isaiah 26:4] the One who parts the sea [Exodus 14:21] and calms the troubled waters. [Matthew 8:26] The Light of the World, [John 8:12] the Bread of Life, the Living water, [John 6:35] Yeshua Messiah who will one day return for His Bride, so is the Bride ready, [Revelation 19:7] no matter what happens in Israel?

“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. [Revelation 22:12-14]
