We have to Choose

We are to choose

Somebody said that we are in control of what we allow into our hearts. Why? Because the key is on the inside not the outside. A very good point, because the older I get the more I wonder what is going on in this world. I was away from home at fifteen and in the world working. I was fully responsible for my own actions and had to pay for the mistakes I made. Of course I made mistakes but the good thing was, these were learning trips but there is just one problem with all of this. We sometimes learn from the worse rather than the better.

Some teachers can and sometimes do, lead us down the wide path to destruction, [Matthew 7:13] which can take a long time to recover from. In this world many things grade us, where we come from, our level of education and or the colour of our skin. However the good news is, none of these matter to the Lord. [Galatians 3:28] There is one verse in the Word of God that clears this up. We are all, made in the image of God, [Genesis 1:27] no exceptions. As a white person, have I ever felt excluded because of the colour of my skin? The answer to this question is a clear yes, and it is not a nice feeling.

But I know one who will never reject us; He was born in Judea so therefore is clearly Jewish. Someone, who, if He were in the world today would probably be excluded from many places and sadly including many churches and probably suffer physical abuse as he once did from the Roman soldiers. [Luke 23:36] This is of course the Messiah, Yeshua the Jewish and the worlds Saviour, the One who came to save the world. [John 3:17] The One the world rejected then and is still rejecting. [John 5:43]

We all want something out of life but mostly we turn to the darkness for the answer because it is easy, [John 3:19] even though there is a light available to us, a light that the darkness can never blot out. [John 1:5] It is a light that takes us from stumbling to walking with confidence through this troubled world. It matters not the colour of our skin, the level of our education or anything else, Yeshua is no respecter of such things. [Colossians 3:11] What He is concerned with is the salvation of all people and He went to great trouble to achieve it. He took on those who stopped people understanding His message and paid the price. [Matthew 21:46] There have been many in history, starting with His Disciples and many other martyrs down through history that have suffered, not for a lie but for the truth. [Acts 15:26]

We are quick to blame others for our situation but we need to remember where the key is. We need to remember that with every hammer blow upon the nails, the ones that held our Lord on the cross, [Luke 23:33] removed another tooth from the mouth of Satan, leaving Satan with absolutely no power what so ever. His head was crushed as prophesied from the beginning [Genesis 3:15] giving us the people, a means to withstand and resist all attacks. [Matthew 16:18] We can do this in the name of Yeshua, the most powerful name in history, the name by which evil trembled [Matthew 8:29] and people were healed and prayers answered. This is the Messiah who died to set us all free from the fear and struggles of the world. [Luke 4:18-19]

He came not only to explain the word but also to show it and show it He did in voice and action, especially by His death and resurrection. He came to bring a light in the darkness [Psalm 112:4] and the spring of living water that people could drink from to give them not only life [John 4:14] but also a purpose for that life. To love, to serve and honour the Lord in mind body and spirit. [Matthew 22:37] Yes no matter who we are or what we have done or the colour of our skin we have all been given the chance to be accepted as children of God. [John 1:12]

We have the perfect teacher in Yeshua they promised to follow wherever He went, [John 8:19] in Him and Him alone do we have a future. We have a teacher that taught from the heart of God, a God who wants no one to be lost. [Ezekiel 33:11] One day we will stand in His presence, [2 Corinthians 5:10] people from all nations and all tongues praising and glorifying the Lord God almighty. [Revelation 7:9] Yeshua taught and wept when people did not listen. [John 5:39-40] He was frustrated with their lack of response to the message and in the finish He had to cry out to the Father, “Forgive them”. [Luke 23:34] This was a cry from the heart to all people down through the ages all the way down to us and beyond.

A Jewish man once searched the scriptures to prove to his daughter that what she believed about Yeshua was wrong. As He read he had to ask the question, is there a God? Once he realised there was he then asked the question is there a Messiah and if so who was he? After reading the scriptures and after much prayer he came to the conclusion, Yeshua was and is the Jewish Messiah prophesied so long ago. [Isaiah 9:6-7] This brought one last question, the question that the Lord is asking all of us, what are we going to do about it? Accept or reject, the choice is ours, because remember when the Lord comes knocking the key is on the inside. It is up to us whether to invite Him into our hearts or not, it is our decision. [Joshua 24:14-15] This Jewish man invited the Lord in and later became a minister of the church.

God is calling all to Him; that call went out to the world from the cross and was echoed out of an empty grave. [Luke 24:12] It is not a call to be heard in the ears but the heart, no matter our circumstances. He is calling all with a voice that can be heard in the darkest places. The cry went out from the empty tomb in Jerusalem and has echoed around the world, He is not here He has Risen [Matthew 28:6] and He lives forever more. [Hebrews 7:24] Yeshua is asking who will take up there cross and follow Him. [Matthew 16:24] as He is inviting us to join Him in His Father’s House.

If we feel a stiring in our spirit Just may be Jesus is knocking at the door. It is time to turn the key to our heart and let Him in. It's time to take back our lives from the world and give it to the one who made them. The One who gave us life, God the Father through Yeshua  and we can know this life and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3
