God is a God of beauty and of love and encouragement. He is all-powerful [Exodus 15:11] and all knowing. [1 Samuel 2:3] In the beginning He created the heavens and the earth. [Genesis 1:1] Then for the day He gave the Sun and the night He gave the lesser light. [Genesis 1:16] Both lights God created and in this showed His power, in the beginning the world was in darkness [Genesis 1:2] and God said: “Let there be lights in the sky.” [Genesis 1:14] Yes the very sun we stand on a beach and watch rise above the horizon as we did recently as people have done for millennium.
This is when I took this photo, first there was the small glow then finally the burst of sunlight showing the mighty power of the Lord. [Psalm 150:1] As I stood there standing in awe of what saw I could see how small we are in the greater scheme of things. The earth is smaller than a speck of dust in the greater universe and yet we are all important in His sight. [Psalm 117:2] Take a look at the photo and in the middle you can see a speck of light shining through the cloud. The more I looked at this photo the more I could see God’s hand in our world and our lives.
The Lord said He is the light of the world, [John 8:12] first in this picture we can see the mighty light that He created to control the day. The glow shines across the sky and then I saw the speck in the clouds, a picture of us. We may think we are so small but what is the source of the light showing us up in this photo? There is the light of the Lord Himself, which is behind us. [Ephesians 5:8] He is the one lighting up our lives, the light behind all people who confess the Light of the World - Yeshua as Lord and Saviour. [1 John 1:7] This is the light that shows us the way to the Father, sinners walk in darkness but when we repent and believe we can walk by the Light and He walks with us. [Colossians 1:13] This was the reason for the cross so that God can walk with us [John 1:9] through the darkness showing the way by a light that the darkness cannot over come. [John 1:5]
The little dot shinning through the cloud is a sign to us all He not only creates the little things like you and me but He cares, loves and helps to make us light up like a sunbeam - A sunbeam which works for Him, shines for Him [Romans 13:12] and lives for Him. [Luke 9:23] He cares for each and every one of us in such a mighty way. In the beginning God created male and female [Genesis 1:27] and He made each and everyone of us beautifully. [Psalm 139:14] He cares what happens to us and does not want to see any one lost. [Ezekiel 33:11] He knows each and everyone by name. [Matthew 10:30-31]
God warns, God teaches, God loves and God saves the lost to bring them into His Kingdom, this is by Him alone, as He will give His glory to no one else. [Isaiah 48:2] This is the power and the love behind that little speck in the clouds this is the full force and glory of the God of the Heavens and the Earth the one and only that sent Yeshua to the cross. The one who sent Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and many others to warn the peoples to what was to come. Nothing happens without first there is a warning, a warning may come in many forms and if and when or if the trouble does come God has given us a way out. It’s called repentance, not easy at first but once we feel the release of the freedom it brings it is so much easier to do if we fail the Lord a second time. [1 John 1:9]
This is the God we serve, He can take a simple thing such as a beautiful sunrise and paint a picture for us and send us a message. Out of the darkness comes light and with light comes life [1 Peter 2:9] and in that life comes a peace as beautiful as the dawn as the sun rises over the sea with its reflection in the quiet waters. This is what God feels about each and every one of us. We are made in His image [Genesis 1:27] and that image of God can and does reflect His glory by just stopping for a moment in time and saying; Here I am Lord, then we, like countless people before us, have the right to become children of God. [John 1:12] Yes we are truly all brothers and sisters in the Lord as we all have the One true Father. [1 Corinthians 8:6]
Our earthly fathers may have let us down or not been the fathers they should have been but there is one Father who will never ever leave us or let us down. If we rebel against our earthly father, they may walk away but God never will. The love He has for each and every one of us is beyond measure. [Malachi 3:10] The picture the Lord once showed me, human love is like a patch of ice on a lake. You break it you fall through as it fails to hold us. God’s love is like the trampoline, we can stretch it bounce on it but it always springs back to hold and support us. Humans can use love as a weapon to control where as God uses love to hold us and to support us and it can never be broken no matter what we do. [Isaiah 54:10]
The more I looked at this picture the more I saw God’s power and majesty that can shine through us all if only we would let go and let Him. Yes Yeshua definitely wants us to shine for Him in every aspect of our lives. [Matthew 22:37] Yeshua shone forth from the Tomb with a light that has gone right around the world and is still shining into people’s lives today. This is the Light that came into the world at Bethlehem and then into our hearts at Calvary, a light in the darkness. The very Light that will light up the New Jerusalem forever and ever just for you and me. This is the same light shining in the lives of Believers in Yeshua today. Amen
Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bondservants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. Revelation 22:1-5
