Where will you be when?

Where will you be when?

People ask where were you? When such and such happened and we think back to where we were and recall the event. But what about if the Lord returns as He said He would, like a thief in the night? [Matthew 24:43] I think the question will be, “Where are we in the Lord? Do we honour Him, do we respect Him and do we love Him to pass up all else just to be in His presence? [ Luke 18:29] When we look at the state of the world and all that is being done against the Jewish people we have to ask the question, are we in the 1930’s or has all that been put behind us?

The short answer is, we are heading back to those times very quickly. Jewish people are being attacked in the street because they are blamed for the burning of an apartment block. Cries are going out from Mosques, to kill all Jews. And we are not speaking of the Middle East but England, France, America and greater Europe. Churches throughout the world are siding with the enemies of God against the very word they claim to follow. [Zephaniah 1:5] When the Lord returns He will separate the goats from the sheep. [Matthew 25:31-40] We have to decide what position we take, either to stand by the Word or with the World. [John 15:19]

The latest attack on Israel occurred when two Israeli Police Officers were shot dead on the Temple Mount. Why were they there? They were there protecting the Arabs. When the rioting started it was soon broadcast around the world as a fault of the Jewish authorities for installing metal detectors to prevent it happening again. You know the same detectors they have in every airport of the world. Nothing is more obvious than that the Jewish nation can do no right in the eyes of the UN and in the eyes of many Churches.

Yeshua is returning to the earth probably sooner rather than later. When He does, what will He find? Will it be a world far from Him as in the days of Noah? [Luke 17:26] Or will the people be trying to build huge buildings to show how clever they are? [Genesis 11:4] Today there are “towers of babel” throughout the world being built to the glory of man. Will the people get tired of waiting as in the days of Moses [Exodus 32:1] and start worshipping the golden bull as they have in New York? Will we be worshipping the Lord with our mouths but with our hearts far from Him? [Isaiah 29:13] Will we have that type of Godliness but not have a personal relationship with the Lord?

When Yeshua stands once more on the Mount of Olives over looking Jerusalem will He weep [Luke 19:41] or will He cry out “Forgive them Father they know not what they do”. [Luke 23:34] Or will it be too late? God gives warnings before He acts, has there been enough warnings? When the people of old turned from their wicked ways God forgave. [2 Chronicles 7:14] Yeshua said: “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand”. [Mark 1:15] In chapters two and three of the Book of Revelation Yeshua is telling the churches to repent and went on to say: “They who have an ear let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches”. [Revelation 3:22] But are we listening?

God is love, He does not want to see anybody lost [Ezekiel 33:11] and yet we don’t seem to have the same concern, either for ourselves or for others. The word tells us there will be much weeping when the Lord returns. [Matthew 25:30] The Lord knows all things and He has warned us of the future if we turn from Him. He teaches us in all things to prepare us for what is to come. He has shown His love beyond measure [John 3:16] and yet we still go our own way. The years go past so quickly and the day will come upon us when we have to stand before the Lord, either at His return or our departing of this world. Either way we have to be ready to give an account of what we have and have not done. [Matthew 12:36] As people turn against God’s people they are going against God Himself and nothing good has come to people who have done this. This has been proven down through history.

So if this is the case how are we going to explain to the Lord about going against God’s chosen people, [Deuteronomy 7:6] the apple of His eye, [Zechariah 2:8] His friend Abraham? [James 2:23] We have to decide are we going to be like Haman in the time of Esther, or worse, like in our own time of history. Most kings of Israel who did not tear down the false idols and went after false gods, found that things went badly for them. We have to choose whom we will serve. The Word tells us if we are friends with the world then we are enemies of God. [James 4:4] Yeshua said take up our cross and follow Him [Matthew 16:24] and in doing so we follow Him to glory. As He is the key to all things He is the One who holds all things together [Colossians 1:17] and He is the One that makes all things new. [Revelation 21:5]

God has given the warnings, He has given us the love and He has given us the salvation we need. We are here in this world for but a moment in time as those of us who have passed the three score years and ten can witness to. The Lord is near in one way or another and knows whatever happens in the future, let us chose the narrow path, [Matthew 7:14] the path that leads to the Father and salvation. So we must always remember the words of our Lord. - Love your neighbour as yourself [Matthew 22:39], which means people from every tribe and tongue including the Jewish people.

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could count, from every nation and all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, and palm branches were in their hands; and they cry out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”

Revelation 7:9-12
