The Final Horseman
The Final Horseman
Last week I wrote about the Lord standing on the Mount of Olives but we all know it has been a long and tortuous journey before this event can and will occur. There have been as they say some ups and downs along the way and all caused by our weakness and the work of the evil one as listed in Revelation 6. First there was a White horse, [Revelation 6:2] not the one of the Lord, as this rider has a bow and not a sword. This rider went out conquering, a situation of control, control of the people and their lives. This is not the Lord as in Him we have a free will to go and do what we want. We are free to do anything we want but not all things are profitable. [1 Corinthians 10:23] Many things we get involved with lead us away from the Lord and not closer. We are to have the mind of the Messiah [1 Corinthians 2:16] and He came for one purpose and that is to bring us to the Father. [John 17:20-26]
Then came the Red horse, [Revelation 6:4] he takes our peace and there is plenty of evidence that this has occurred in the past and is still doing so today. A peace that every one is looking for in their lives is being stolen from them daily by the things thrown at them by the worldly system. He is our peace he is our every thought. [Ephesians 2:14] Things happen and we react even knowing that Yeshua said to get angry with our brother, will bring judgment. [Matthew 5:21-22] It is time to claim that peace in our lives. The scriptures of these horses read as if the horse and rider are in control. But having ridden a horse I know the rider is in control. The bit is in the horse’s mouth not ours and it is time to show we are followers of the King of Kings and He is our peace. James 3 talks of the lack of peace and then how we can obtain it. [James 3:17-18]
Then came the Black horse [Revelation 6:5] and an attack on the finances of the people. If we look down through history it is obvious just how successful the rider of the Black horse has been. The result is people living in the streets and living in hovels throughout the world. The problem being is our financial situations have been allowed to affect our relationship with the Lord and allowed our world to become dark. Let us turn the light back on and remove the darkness from our lives. Seek you first the Kingdom of God [Matthew 6:32-33] no matter what our situation may be, as He is the Light that no darkness can remove [John 1;5] the Lord and His promises from our lives. [Romans 8:37-39] Let us put aside where we are in the world and think of and know, what lies ahead after our Lord stands on the Mount of Olives [Zechariah 14:4] will be more glorious than we can imagine.
Then came the Pale horse with much death. [Revelation 6:8] When we look at history and the Black Plague, they say up to half the world population died in the known world at the time. The Jewish cleansing laws saved many of them from the Plaque but not from the wrath of those who were losing loved ones. The people claimed if the Jewish people weren’t dying then they must have caused it. Then the squalor that many people lived in brought other sicknesses and death. People had to drink Gin as the water was too polluted. The Pale horse roamed back and forth bringing death [Revelation 6:8] but those in the Lord still had a life to come and I am sure would have brought light into the darkest places. [Psalm 89:15]
Next came the cry of the Martyrs, how long Lord until you avenge for our blood and the Lord said wait just a little longer. [Revelation 6:15] Throughout history from the time of the Disciples until this present time people have and are still dying for their faith in the hope to come. From Steven standing in front of the leaders of his time, exclaimed he could see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Father [Acts 7:51-60] until the Christian refusing to convert to Islam. People have been dying for their faith in the One who was and is and is to come. [Revelation 1:8] The One who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. [Hebrews 13:8 The One who is the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last and holds the keys to both death and life. [Revelation 1:17-18]
These people stood firm on the truth proclaiming there is nothing nor any one greater than the Son of God, Prince of Peace and Almighty God, [Isaiah 9:6] simply by their actions of not giving in, as no words were required. Could we do the same? We pray the Lord would give us the strength to stand firm on the Word and the promises it holds for each and everyone of us. Then we jump to Revelation 19:11: The heavens open and a rider on a white horse who is faithful and true. This the one who will come in the end of days, no warrior will be able to stand against Him and no lie be able to stand in His presence. [Exodus 33:17-23]
His eyes will be like a flame of fire [Revelation 19:12] burning right into the darkest of any or every soul. He will see all and He will know all. [1 John 3:20] This is the One coming with many crowns and a name that is the Word of God. [Revelation 19:13] His name is the Word that is truth and which has been bringing that truth to countless generations down through the ages. One day we will look up and there He will be in all His glory leading the great army of Angels, [Revelation 19:14] He will have arrived, Ben David, the conquering King. Once He came as a suffering servant, Ben Joseph. Now the letters have been written the warnings sent out it is time for the Mighty Councillor to take His rightful place. And they will look upon the One they pierced and there will be much wailing and gnashing of teeth. [Zechariah 12:10]
All that has gone before is just the preamble for what was to come; now the Messiah will come with His two edge sword cutting through to the thoughts and intents of the heart of every person on earth. [Hebrews 4:14] His will be the questions, ours will be the confession as the Lord takes up His rule over all the nations. [Revelation 19:15] We will look and have no doubt who this rider is for on His thigh is a name written, KING of Kings and Lord of lords. [Revelation 19:16] All the power from the riders as they have rode through history will be destroyed and He will reign forever more. Halleluyah!
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” Revelation 21:1-4
