Planting the Seed in the Light

Planting the Seed in the Light

The flowers of spring are now really shining in the garden. The red ones, the white ones, the colour is beautiful and shows all the glory of the Lord. But as summer moves on the flowers fade and are soon ready for the compost heap, [Isaiah 40:8] but before this they produce hundreds of seeds, which continue the species of the flower they come from. The flower may have died but life continues through the seeds that are blown by the wind. In 2017 we may have planted many seeds in one way or another, but that year has now come to a close and will never appear again. But from the ashes of the year past will rise a new one, one with much promise. One that may be blank now but one the Lord will fill with His glory somewhere some how. [Isaiah 40:5]

The Lord said that unless a seed falls to the ground nothing can come of it, but if it dies it produces many more seeds. [John 12:24] The Lord was killed and was buried in the ground and look what came from this. [Isaiah 60:1] A seed was planted and when it burst forth into the Light the whole world was changed and it is still changing today, one person at a time. [2 Corinthians 3:18] Lives are being changed forever as I write this. The Lord is working overtime to save all that would accept the invitation He sent out from the cross. The Lord never wants to see anybody lost, [Ezekiel 33:11] no not one. He gave up glory to come to earth [1 Corinthians 15:47] for you and me, to gather us to the Father. While we were still sinners He came to save the lost. [Romans 5:8] We have all sinned and fallen short of what the Lord wants of us [Romans 3:23] but still He came to show His glory to the world.

He died, rose and now sits in glory; all has been given for the pearl of great price. [Matthew 13:46] The seed has been planted and now we are witnessing what can happen from the result of the Word that was with God and has come to water that growth. [1 Corinthians 3:7] A growth that can't be pruned or cut out, because when the living God is involved nothing can stop the spread of His Word. Whether His voice is in a gentle breeze or a mighty roar in a storm [Mark 4:39] it is never going to stop calling all to Him. The call will continue until the Lord Himself will once more walk upon this earth as He calls all the ones whose names are written in the Book of Life to Himself.

The Lord is calling all no matter who we are or what we have done. He sees all our sins and sees us, as we are, sinners. [Proverbs 24:12] But He wants us to hear His voice and wants to see the change that occurs when we take on the mind of Messiah [1 Corinthians 2:16] to walk as He wants us to walk. He wants to place His seed into our lives and then water it into a new life. [2 Timothy 2:8]

The Lord gives new life where we can walk in His light, [John 3:3] which is the light of the world. [John 8:12] Through the cross we can have a life that lifts us out of the darkness of this world and into the light of the next. A life that gives us a hope for the future where all fear has gone. [Colossians 1:13] As the word says if we are crucified with Him we are also raised with Him. [Colossians 2:12] So as we advance into another year there is no time like the present to place ourselves firmly into the will of the Father. To allow Him to take as on to a higher understanding of Him and what He requires of us here and now. Then the seed He plants in us may one day encourage someone else to allow God to touch their lives so they too can grow into The Light, the light that darkness cannot be able to over come, [John 1:5] the light that the Lord can give to all. [John 1:9] Remember  a seed can only grow if it is in the light.

This is the light of life that existed before time and will continue long into the world to come. This is a new year, which can hold such promise for all. [John 1:4] Darkness may have fallen on the world in the time of Noah; it may have fallen on the world in the time of the kings of Israel. But the true light burst forth into the world when the stone was rolled away and the darkness of this world was once and for all time defeated. Now is the time to rise up and be ready in this New Year for what that light has in store for each and every one of us in the year to come. Let us go forth with the Word of God on our lips and His joy in our hearts, [Nehemiah 8:10] for He is the Beginning and the end [Isaiah 41:4] the Alpha and the Omega. [Revelation 22:13] The One who returning to bring His glory once more before the people, all the people and every knee will bow and confess He is Lord. [Isaiah 45:22-24]

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16
