God’s Word is Truth
The Word of God is faithful and true [Deuteronomy 7:9] and Yeshua came to earth to explain it to us. [John 1:1] It was recorded by the disciples for us to read, it is God’s testimony [1 John 5:9] written down for us to understand several things, which I want to touch on in this message. Without the Word we are nothing and have nothing.
The Word tells us Yeshua, the Saviour of our souls, the King of kings, and Lord of lords, [Revelation 19:16] came to set us free from every trouble, concern and need. [Luke 4:18-19] We just love the idea that the Lord concerns Himself with us as He does. [Psalm 44:21] He does this because when He looks at us He sees someone made in His image someone who is loved beyond measure, [1 John 4:16] someone with so much potential and someone He gave up everything for [Matthew 13:46] so even though we may feel we are walking in a valley of death, He brings life. As the song says, “From heaven to earth, from the earth to the cross, from the cross to the grave” He rose to give new life to you and me. The Lord may see a broken person, He may see our tears and our depression but through all this He sees us for what we can be in this life, a child of God. [John 1:12]
He sees our smiles when He touches our lives and as we look into His face we rejoice that we know Him and that He knows us. [1 John 3:20] We celebrate Him and we rejoice within that celebration in a way that there is no tomorrow. But yes, there is a but in all of this, when we walk down the street and we see a drunk, or a beggar, a girl who has had an abortion and is hurting, what do we see? Just another person or do we see a Samaritan? [Luke 10:30-37] I believe Yeshua is everywhere, in each of these people we see the love of Yeshua and we look at these people as people Yeshua died for. He died for the poor and He died for the rich and everyone in between, [John 12:47] He is no respecter of people [Acts 10:34] in what they have achieved or not achieved. Every person we meet could be Yeshua in disguise, and that includes the Jewish people as the Lord came first for the Jew and then the Gentile; it’s in the Book. [Romans 1:16]
The Book that tells us to surrender all to Yeshua, [1 Thessalonians 5:18] I surrender everything to You Lord. It is the same Book that tells us to love, it is the same Book that tells us to care for His Jewish people [Isaiah 40:1-2] it is time for us to live up to the term ‘Christian’ and love all people including the Jewish people. Society reacts against such teachings, but these are not our teachings they are the commandments of the Lord. Therefore we are not under attack but the Lord Himself and His word. [Ecclesiastes 7:29] We all want revival, we want to see the power of God sweep through our families, our town, our country but unless we start looking through the eyes of Yeshua nothing will change. We love the Lord, we cry out in song and in worship “We love you Lord”. But the question remains do we love the people God Loves? Do we love all the Jewish people unconditionally? Do we love them sacrificially as He loves them? [Psalm 17:8]
Yes we love the Lord and we know where we are going when this life comes to an end, but what about our neighbour, our friend where are they going to spend eternity? It is not about Bible bashing but living the Bible in front of all we meet. We could be the only Bible many Jewish people will ever see therefore we must become the witness the Lord wants us to be wherever we are and in whatever we do and that includes our Christianity. [Romans 11:11] This is why we have the word written so we can tell of His testimony not ours. That includes our attitude to the Jewish people who are a manifestation of God’s reality. No people could have gone through what they have gone through and still survive without the hand of God upon them. It’s all in the Word. The Pharaohs, Haman in the time of Esther, the Greeks the Romans and many others then, and today people are still trying to destroy them.
Words are great but when they are His words they are even greater. [2 Corinthians 6:7] The Lord has taught countless people through His word. In China there was a time they would tear a page out of the Bible for a person to have, just one page, from the Gospels and these pages brought people to the Lord, so there is power within the word. The same word we say we teach from and yet it is changed pushed and re-interpreted in so many ways. It is there for all to see and read and through the power of the Holy Spirit, understand in all of its simplicity. [2 Timothy 4:2]
There is nothing we can change in the Word, if it says God loves, if it says He will give us eternal life; we would complain if someone tried to change these promises. So why have we changed scripture when it comes to the Jewish people? [Revelation 22:18-19]
The Word tells us to love our neighbour [Leviticus 19:18] and Yeshua was asked the Jewish question, “Who is my neighbour?” [Luke 10:29] From the Master Himself we learn we are to love even those we class as enemies or outcastes or the persecuted. The question today is which people have been the most persecuted throughout history? 215,000,000 Christians today face persecution in some 150 countries worldwide and we say this has to end. We pray for our enemies and we pray for the persecuted and yet there is one group of people who are the apple of God’s eye who are persecuted wherever they live within the world today, yes the Jewish people. Even Christians and world leaders of Christian denominations are aligning themselves with the world against the Word of God. I walk into Churches and see the list of the great mission works they are involved with, Africa, China, Asia and many more but I seldom see a listing for the Jewish nation of Israel. I once asked a Church to pray for Israel and was told it was not right to pray so much for Israel and yet it is the only place we are ordered to pray for. [Psalm 122:6:9]
The Word of God is mightier than a two edge sword, it cuts to the truth and the truth is the Word of God, [Hebrews 4:12] the truth is in the fulfillment of His prophecies, the truth is in the reality of the re-establishment of the Land of Israel and the return of the Jewish people. [Isaiah 51:3] Yes Yeshua was, is and will ever be the Saviour of the World. He is everything He said He was, such as the Bread of life, [John 6:34:35] springs of living water; [John 7:37:38] He is all these things and much more. In all of this we must always remember that He came first for the Jew and then the Gentile [Romans 2:9] not the other way around. Pray this week that the tears of the Holocaust will be wiped away and the pain and the hurt of that event will fade and the people, the Jewish people will once and for all time realise Yeshua is Messiah of every nation tribe and tongue including the Jewish Nation.
Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant and praise is becoming. The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the outcasts of Israel, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite. John 147:1-5
