The Lord Gives Life

The Lord Gives Life

I was lost but now am found, wonderful words written so long ago, yes I am one of those who was lost but found by a wonderful Saviour who came down from heaven to save us all from ourselves. [John 3:17] Have you ever felt lost and unwanted? Well I have and it is not a nice feeling when everything seems to be against you. But then the Lord appears in ones life and life begins anew and a whole new world is open to us. A life where the sun shines brighter and the flowers show God’s creation and the birds sing God’s glory when all creation sings His praises. [Psalm 96:13] The whole world opens up to us with such a new look we can never doubt the Lord’s power that is working in our lives and the world around us.

We might have once been put down or failed in a task but in Yeshua we can do all things as He gave us a life to live. [Philippians 4:13] But as we read in Job 14:1-2 life is just fleeting and like grass we soon wither away. One moment we are young and the world at our feet, we can run all day and climb hills as if they are not there. Some do great things in the world and become famous while others live quiet undisturbed lives achieving nothing world beating but what they want. But whatever life we lead it soon comes to an end, we bring nothing into this world and we take nothing from it. [Job 1:21] One moment we are young and then we look in the mirror and see this person and we wonder where the years have gone. The time comes when we lose friends, many friends and it makes us think of our own immortality.

We plant a tree and it grows strong and mighty, the wind comes and blows it this way and that and the tree withstands the storms that are thrown at it. When it is watered and fed it gains strength, then as the years pass it ages and withers, then one day it is cut down but the root remains and when the rains come the roots once more shoot and new growth can occur. [Job 14:7-9] We are like that tree we grow into a person with many prospects, we are watered and fed and look forward to a great future. But as the Word says we are like grass and soon fade away but as it says in the Book of Job unlike the tree once gone we are never to return. [Job 14:10]

So where is our future? It is in the Lord. The heavens reflect His glory and His promises. [Joel 2:30] Take the moon, it rises in the east as a small slice in the sky and as the days pass it grows in size and lights the earth with the reflection of the sunlight. Then as the month comes to an end so does the glory of the moon. But with a new month so we have a new moon and the process starts again, a true picture of birth, life, death and resurrection, God’s glory.

We too have been given the chance if we will take it to be resurrected and to do this we must accept and reflect the glory of the Son. [Romans 10:9] With the light of life upon us we can see more clearly the way ahead and know that even if we start to fade, as does the Moon at the end of its month, there is a hope to be had in the resurrection of the Son upon us we can be born again. [John 3:3] Born not into a world of darkness but into the Light of the world and with all the promises that come with knowing the Light. [1 John 1:7]

We may be cut down in the prime of life or live to a very old age but whichever it is we know there is a hope in the One who promises that hope as He is true and faithful to His Word. He cannot deny Himself for to do that would be to take away His power, promises and love. [2 Timothy 2:13] Yes we will fade from this earth as time passes and our bodies show the signs of age with time. We may not be able to run and climb like we once did as our youth fades and is taken from us but one thing can never be taken from us and that is the promises and love of God. [Romans 8:37-39]

As the Moon is born again each month and shines brightly in the sky each month, we must remember it is not its own light but the reflection of the light of one greater than it. Being born again into the Kingdom of God is like that, we are not reflecting our own light as we are like an uncut diamond that can't reflect any light. But when born again we are cut and polished to reflect His light, the much greater light than we will ever be. [Revelation 21:22-23] And it is this light that lights our path and shows clearly the road ahead. [Psalm 119:105] The wind may blow and the storms surround us but it is the Lord’s power in us that keeps us strong and firmly planted within the Holy ground on which we now stand. [Exodus 3:5]

Every person is lost and searching, that is why the Lord went past the words in a Book, He came to bring those Words alive [John 1:1-5] so that we might see the truth in everything written, His prophecies, His promises, His warnings and His love to the lost, all were written and now through Yeshua all can come to life and know the truth of His word which is revealed to all. [1 Corinthians 1:16] For the truth will set us free, free from hurt, free from pain, free from all the things the world can throw at us. [John 8:12] Stepping into God’s Kingdom is to be found and to bring us new life, not just now but for all eternity in the world to come as the Word of God says:

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. “He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. Revelation 21:1-7
